Uptime expected again within the next few days.

Valve have released the Counter-Strike: Source update from the BETA stage and it’s all suddenly live. Servers have been unplayable most of the day as we were not prepared for the unannounced release.

Currently, only the Dust2 Server is currently operating, thanks to Lethal’s hard work.

Many addons and plugins aren’t currently working, which will be fixed by Sourcemod and their respective authors within the next few days.

Servers are only running at 66tick, due to Valve introducing a default value to server command lines. We are working on a work-around to operate the servers at 100tick again.

Please report any unexpected shutdowns or crashes on the forum.

We’re currently experiencing a server attack in relation to our Ban Management system.

If you have been banned, please post on the forum if it has not shortly been reverted.

We are currently indentifying the cause, and the person/people/mongoloids responsible.

I have raised the threat level accordingly!

In light of recent departures (Sophiaa! and Forbsiε.uқ, to whom we wish the very best), and a few other members currently taking a break or studying for exams, UK Nemesis are pleased to welcome OldBoy! to the ED Team. OldBoy! is a crucial team player and a friend of many people at UK Nemesis and will strengthen our roster tenfold.

We are also welcoming back Snoopy!, a talented young player who has been away for a while chasing his ambitions and honing his skills. Snoopy! returns to us in our hour of need in order to help us progress to a position which we feel that we deserve.

Both players are key to our clans future successes, and will complement our already strong pool of talented players. Feel free to support boys as they return to action this Friday (9th April). Just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved in our migration to the new dedicated server. On the whole, it has gone pretty damn smoothly and that is testament to the pool of experience we have on the team. Specific thanks go to Kieran for handling the majority of the server side stuff and to Lethal for coding all sorts of things.

I’d also like to say thank you to all those of you have helped testing over the last couple of weeks and for your patience when things didn’t go quite right. There are still some kinks to be ironed out and hopefully, with your feedback, we can make get that done quickly. Each server has its own forum section so please post your thoughts there. It is player feedback that has shaped UK Nemesis to be one of the most popular Counter-Strike Source communities in the country and long may it continue.

Looking forward, we’re not finshed yet. We have some freshers servers without a steady playerbase and that is where we are focusing our attention. If you find yourselves looking for some variety, jump on to one of our new servers (best maps, death match, gungame) and try to invite some people in. Last night, 3 of us managed to get the server filled up to 20 within about 15 minutes. The Admin team will be making a concerted effort to do this over the next few weeks so join us and help attract new players.

Lastly, remember, have fun. That’s what its all about, after all.

AllTalk Function

To compliment the new servers, Lethal has coded an AllTalk function into the start of each round. This will allow tactical play while also allowing our usual banter/abuse throwing.

At the start of each round, AllTalk will be switched off so teams can discuss tactics.

After 15 seconds AllTalk is reactivated! A message mid-screen and a small bleep will indicate this.

This function is now active on all main servers.

UK Nemesis is pleased to announce we are upgrading & launching new servers!

As we’ve become more popular, our current dedicated server is no longer fit for purpose. We are now expanding and moving on to a bigger and better server; no downtime expected. End result will see our existing servers become much more stable and perform better, with scope for future additional servers.

As a result, all our IP addresses will be changing. Please update your favourites to the new IPs below and redownload the uk:N GUI here. We don’t want to lose anyone out in the switch over, so please update your IPs and tell your friends. Teething problems are expected, so please post in the relevant server forum with your suggestions or bug finds.

All IPs will be changing!

Big thanks to everyone that competed in the new “Kill or be Kicked” event that took place last night, organised by mob. The event was a great success with the server filling up right away, apologies to everyone that wanted to play but couldn’t join in time!

The results are as follows:

Last Sunday, Applepie and Holyd3mon, the current leaders of the ED team, finalised the recruitment of two new members to help strengthen the uk:N roster. Whilst they have already put together a promising team, they felt they needed to add more experience and variety to the squad, and have thus, sourced two of the most beloved fraggers on the UK circuit.

Although not new to the uk:N servers, Hobbes^ and Flix.uk (aka Forbsie.uk) have teamed up to add  some much needed skill and panache to the current uk:N roster. Team leaders,  Holyd3mon and Applepie, were excited about the transfers and agreed “This is the way forward for uk:N”.

Both Hobbes^ and Flix.uk are clear to play for uk:N from today, 17/11/09, and can be seen in action for uk:N this weekend.
